Dennis Pergram was born in Tiffin, Ohio in 1947. He
served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1969. Dennis has a
Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of AV® Preeminent™ 5.0 out of 5, the
highest rating given. He obtained his B.S. in Business Administration from
The Defiance College, and in 1976 received his law degree from the
University of Toledo.
Dennis is admitted to practice before the United
States Supreme Court and has litigated in the United States Court of
Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States District Court for
the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio. He has been granted pro hac
vice admission, for the purpose of a single case, in a federal court in
Boston, Chicago, and Orlando, as well as a California state court.
Dennis, who
joined the firm in 1978, is the Director of the firm's Employment and
School Law practice groups. He frequently speaks in the school and
education law areas, having spoken to administrators, and has made
presentations to various Chambers of Commerce. He has also been a speaker
for the Ohio CLE Institute, speaking to other lawyers, and is a former
adjunct instructor for Urbana College.
Dennis also leads the firm’s
Litigation practice group, having litigated cases in many state and
federal courts and handled appeals to the Supreme Court of Ohio and U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
He was included in Columbus
C.E.O. magazine's Special Section: "Top Lawyers" in the practice areas of
labor and employment, litigation, and appeals.
Dennis is a member of the Ohio
State, Columbus, and Delaware Bar Associations. He is past chairperson of
the Ohio State Bar Association School Law Committee.
Dennis and his wife, Roberta,
reside in Columbus. They have three children and are active in the
community.
