Jim Dietz was born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1960. He obtained his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Capital University in 1982, and in 1985 received his Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University College of Law.
He joined the firm in 1988 and manages the firm's Probate and Estate Planning Practice Group. He has administered estates in Cuyahoga County, Montgomery County, Richland County and throughout central Ohio. Jim enjoys the challenges and complexities of assisting individuals with the transfer of their wealth and precious assets. He also appreciates the emotional difficulties of dealing with the loss of a loved one.
Jim is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and is past chairman of its School Law Committee. He is also a member of the Ohio State, Columbus, and Delaware County Bar Associations, and serves on the Delaware Speech and Hearing Center Board. He currently serves as President of the Common Ground Free Store Ministry. He participated in the Delaware Area Chamber of Commerce's Leads program for 1995 and facilitates the Youth Leadership Law and the Courts Day. Jim was the District 5 recipient of the 2001 Ohio State Bar Foundation Community Service Award for attorneys age 40 and under. Jim has a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of BV® Distinguished™ 4.4 out of 5.
im twice served as President (distinguished) of the Delaware (evening) Kiwanis club and is a Hixon award recipient. He is a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he served as lay leader, and currently serves as a Sunday School teacher and youth group leader. Jim and his wife, Emily, reside in Delaware.
